Day 1: Live.Laugh.Lagos Retreat Journal
Seven special ladies hailing from Maine, Connecticut, New Hampshire and Kansas rolled in from Lisbon and Faro, wearing smiles and anticipation on their faces.
The orange trees, along with Gigi and I, greeted them at the serene and stunning Quinta de Lagos estate, owned by the most warm and wonderful mother and son team (Vanessa and Johan) which is exclusively ours for the next few days!
The outstanding Olivia catered an awesomely authentic lunch, including salad with figs, pepitas and edible flowers; wild rice with fresh lemon; and flatbreads with sweet juicy peppers and goat cheese.
The afternoon was filled with rest and recharging for some, and refreshing pool and music time followed by farmers market for others. The ladies enjoyed a small gift we placed on each of their beds
We broke bread for dinner in the early evening, sharing a family style meal of soup and roasted chicken, potatoes and vegetables. The green wine and alentejo region red were refined and light (just like us lol ).
Stories were told, challenges shared, and sisterly support shined, complete with laughs and gaffs!
We ended with an evening circle to get grounded for the days ahead before retiring with the intentions and imagination that a new journey brings.
