Disco & discussion
If you are wondering what disco balls, Game of Thrones, murder podcasts, Jennifer Garner movies, or saber-tooth tigers have to do with emotional resilience for women in midlife, well...you had to be there 😉
Last evening, I facilitated a gathering of women for an interactive session entitled "Emotional Regulation in Real-Time" tucked into Center Harbor, NH, and the uniquely inspiring Bohemian Home boutique.
With a newly formed sisterhood eager to grow, we explored The Serene Shift Method I developed at Loon Rising, LLC—featuring 4-4-8 Breathing, the E-Motion Reset Scale, and a Shift & Savor Micro-Goal, adapted from UGA’s award-winning Path2Green training by Dr. Cathy Snapp and Geralyn Russell.
These ladies were hungry for and happy with the brain-based science to support the method (negativity bias, positive neuroplasticity, HRV coherence and incoherence) and even more impressed by the results in real-time, reporting calmness, clarity, and peace within each step.
More importantly, they recognized their ability to reclaim their emotional regulation and rewire their brain towards positivity through mindfulness, choice, and their own innate strengths in as little as 10 minutes a day.
As is most often the case, the impact of this methodoloy was made all the more powerful through the sense of community we had huddled up together.
