mindfulness & a micro-Goal—Who’s in?
Time for a MINDFUL MOMENT & MICRO-GOAL!
With these 2 minutes, you can transform the outcome of your day, like the morning molting of a dragonfly—yes, even (especially?) before being transformed by caffeine (that’s rich coming from me) 🫘
MINDFUL🧘♀️MOMENT
1. Name how you are feeling, notice where and how in the body that shows up
2. If needed, let go of any emotion not serving you and reach for a more positive feeling one (Tip: you don’t have to reach high or hard—“satisfaction” or “contentment” is as transformative as “joy”)
(How? Visualize something that would raise you to that vibe, notice where and how you feel it in your body).
If already feeling on the positive side of the emotional spectrum, hold onto it with a positive visualization as well.
3. Savor that positive feeling emotion for at least 10-12 seconds in your minds eye 🧠 ✨ and notice where you feel it in your body.
You have just “shifted and activated” neurons, likely down a new pathway, to help rewire your brain for emotional resilience.
Kinda like shedding an emotional exoskeleton that doesn’t serve you!
Now channel that mini momentum with a micro-goal. This is how….
MICRO-GOAL 🎯
Fill in these blanks:
“Today, I will ______ at least _______ and feel _______”
This is a micro-goal! You should not go more than 2-5% out of your way to achieve it!
When you achieve, you’ll experience another mini transformation as you continue to hardwire your brain for resilience.
Examples from yours trulys actual upcoming day:
“Today, I will *cook for myself* at least *once* and feel *accomplished* (that box of quinoa isn’t gonna cook itself)
Or maybe I’ll go with:
“Today, I will *schedule something fun to do* at least *twice* and feel *giddy* (I know you are not judging me for a Downton Abbey matinee and area rug shopping 🛍️ as my definition of fun).
Do this, friends, every morning as part of your emotional resilience hygiene.
